Scott and Paul did a 3-day backpacking trip into the canyon from the South Rim, starting on the Bright Angel trail, staying the first night in the Indian Garden campground. They used the Tonto Trail to cross to the South Kaibab Trail to descend to the river, staying in the Bright Angel campground. After a visit to Ribbon Falls, they hiked back to Indian Garden for the last night.
After taking the Trans Canyon shuttle to the North Rim, Scott met up with family--Joan, Nancy, Kathy and Steve--for a 3-day visit at and around the North Rim.
